|
| In the afternoon of July 11, 1897, "The Eagle" disappeared
forever on a northbound route. The expeditions final destiny would
be concealed for 33 years. Not until the discovery of diaries, logbooks
and photographic plates the course of events became known. The Andrée
Museum depicts the expedition in a fascinating and lucid way.

| The Belvedere |
|
Legendary sports editor Torsten Tegnér got interested in the
Gränna area during TV-entertainer Lennart Hyland's prank to make
Sweden's smallest newspaper Grenna Tidning the largest for a day.
The media elite gathered in Grenna and raised the circulation to
several hundred thousand copies. During this visit Tegnér decided
that a belvedere would be properly located on the ridge east of
Gränna. It is well worth a visit. The reward is a sensational view
over the surroundings.
